  • Dutch Kidney Foundation The Dutch Kidney Foundation awards grants that fall within research programmes as defined on the website.
    • Kolff Carreer Stimulation Program On April the 1st 2007 The Dutch Kidney Foundation has launched the Kolff Program to provide personal grants to talented investigators.
  • Rosalind Franklin Fellowship To promote the participation of women in Liberal arts and Natural Sciences the University of Groningen offers a prestigious fellowship programme (tenure-track).
  • Dutch Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) Researchers can apply for grants within research programmes as defined by NWO or as apart of an Open Competition. Personal grants (like the well-known Vernieuwingsimpuls) stimulate individual researchers. Other grants facilitate (international) cooperation, finance the use of large-scale facilities and enable investments or publications.
    • Rubicon The Rubicon programme is directed at promising young postdoctoral researchers and will give them the chance to enhance their career prospects by spending up to two years at a top research institution outside the Netherlands or one year at an excellent Dutch research institution. The Rubicon programme is open to all scientific disciplines. In 2007 the deadlines for submitting applications are: 4 september en 4 december.
    • Innovational Research Incentives Scheme Veni This form of grant offers researchers who have only recently completed their doctorates (max 3 years after doctorate) the opportunity to develop their ideas during three years. The maximum amount of grant will be € 208,000.
  • KNAW The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences awards grants for research, conference visits or periods of residence abroad; Contributes to the cost of organising international conferences, workshops and colloquia in the Netherlands; Promotes international communication and partnerships.
    • Ramsay Memorial Fund Object: to send a young scientist specialised in chemistry to the United Kingdom for a period of one year to pursue advanced chemical research. Field of study: chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology
  • KWF The Dutch Cancer Society subsidise research projects that cover the entire spectrum of cancer studies.
  • Erasmus Mundus - External Cooperation Window A new call for proposals has been launched by the Commission to fund higher education student and teaching staff mobility activities between European universities and universities from targetted third-countries. This new action will provide funds for the organisation and implementation of student - from undergraduate to post-doctorate level - and academic staff mobility flows from and towards the third-countries concerned. The grants awarded to individual projects will fall between EUR 1 and 6 million depending on the geographical lot concerned.
  • Dr. C. van Tussenbroekfonds Female graduates and young PhDs can apply for this grant on behalf of research or education abroad (6000 euro) or for short scholarships (1250 euro).
  • Roche Research Foundation The Foundation promotes Swiss research with the goal of enhancing its international standing by supporting scientific investigations of promising young talents in the fields of biology, chemistry, and medicine. Deadlines April 15, July 15, October 15 2007.
  • Roche Organ Transplantation Research Foundation The Roche Organ Transplantation Research Foundation is a registered Medical Research Charity whose mission is to advance the science of organ transplantation by supporting research programs through operating grants directly allocated to research projects. Those eligible for operating grants are established members of academic staff in universities, transplant centres and research institutes. The aim of the research must be to improve the outcomes of recipients of organ transplants.
  • Roche Foundation for Anemia Research The Roche Foundation for Anemia Research is a registered Medical Research Charity with the mission of “encouraging innovative research that will open new avenues of exploration in the study of anemia, its mechanisms, erythropoetic agents and outcomes.” Those eligible for grants are members of academic staff in universities, dialysis centres and research institutes.
